Tip #1 – Create Original Content Or Cheat The Right Way!
Content rules the internet. Go against this and you will fail and fail big time. If you have been marketing for any period of time, you will know this already. Everyone is busy jumping in and shouting it from the rooftops. Some however are still not doing this and are simply doomed to failure.
Get it wrong and you will pay the price, you simply wont be taken seriously. Badly written content is another no no. If English is not your first language it is a good investment to have a proof reader go through your copy to make sure that it makes sense. From some of the blogs that I have seen, it’s just general good practice for everyone.
If you do have to cheat and purchase PLR material to fill your blog, you still need to pay attention to your content and re-write at least 60%. Any less and you are going to get found out. There is nothing wrong with using PLR, just make sure that you are not the lazy PLR user that still ends up failing.
Tip #2 – Create Content That Gives People A Plan Of Action
One of the biggest mistakes that people make is not TELLING people what to do. You wouldn’t leave out your address of your store on a promotional leaflet would you? Call to action is one of the important parts of creating copy that makes people follow your instructions. Don’t make it clear enough and failure is at your door.
If you are selling affiliate products though your blog this is another crucial step that should not be ignored. I have visited many blogs where I was amazed at how difficult it was to actually purchase what they had just spent time preselling to me.
The easiest ways to presell someone on your blog for either your product or your affiliate product is to show them exactly what they should do with the product to implement the benefits to their own business. People want simple, easy to follow advice.
Reviewing a product is great, but don’t tell them only what it does, let them know how that product is going to benefit the user. A recommendation from someone who is already using the product is worth much more than what a sales page can say.
Tip #3 – Make Your Writing For Your Visitors First – Not Search Engines
Take a look at some other blogs out there. They have been told that they should have a certain amount of keyword density for their content, so away they go adding more and more keywords.
It makes the content stand out for all the wrong reasons. It just sounds plain stupid and you can tell that the keywords have been crammed in purely for the search engines. Humans are your most important visitors so make sure that you content makes sense and is not crammed with words that have no business being there.
Tip #4 – Write Like You Are Talking To A Friend Or Answering Emails
Keep in mind that you are writing a blog and not a college exam paper. Statistics show that the average reading level in adults is that of an 8th grader. Using long words that make you sound intelligent can make the reader feel stupid. A person who thinks that reading the blog is too much like hard work will automatically think that the product is way out of their league.
People want to hear from people. Keeping the tone of the blog just like you were talking to a friend or replying to an email will keep them interested in what you have to say.
Let your personality shine through when you are writing for your blog. If you are not good at humor or whit, then don’t try and do it with your writing. You could end up creating something that comes across the wrong way and upset the reader.
Tip #5 – Don’t Try And Pull The Wool Over Your Readers Eyes
Just because you have found a high paying affiliate program doesn’t mean that you have to promote it. If you don’t own it, or at least tested it, then you wont be able to properly promote it yourself.
People want to hear about the bad in the product as well as the good. So if you are reviewing a product, make sure that you include any downsides or where it could be improved. You will have the readers trust straight away if you let them know it’s not quite perfect.
